cha-cha-changes + our (new) home sweet home!

Oh, hello there! Remember me? Itโ€™s your old pal Jules! Itโ€™s been over two months since my last blog post and I promise you I have a really great excuse ๐Ÿ˜‰

We bought a new house! ๐ŸŽ‰ Ooooh baby has it been a wild couple of months. Not only were we dealing with.a global pandemic and working from home with a toddler but we decided to spice things up by selling our townhouse and then literally buying a new house less than a month later (lololol)

Even before the pandemic, we knew weโ€™d want to buy a new house around the time Otis turned one. We loved our little townhouse and it was the first place we ever bought but it was quite small and we knew that as soon as Otis was on the move it would be time to upgrade to something bigger.

We planned to go stay with my mom and stepdad for a few weeks at Christmas and that turned into a six-month-long visit (oops, lol) due to me being back at work and us not feeling comfortable sending Otie to daycare for the first time during the pandemic. In February our amazing real estate agent told us it was a really great time to sell, and since we had a place to stay, we staged our place and put it up for sale and it closed within a few weeks!

We were going to start casually looking for a place but knew what the real estate market was like in Toronto and we were prepared that this journey could take anywhere from 2-6 months (tbh, I thought maybe even more!) but one morning we saw the perfect house listed online and knew we had to go at least check it out!

We fell in the love with the house. It was totally our vibe and the previous owners loved a lot of the same things as us which made it even easier to picture us living in the space! Our agent loved it too, and said normally she wouldnโ€™t recommend putting an offer in on the first place you see but agreed this place was just too perfect to not give it a try.

A bunch of really stressful things happened, closing our previous house, quickly getting approved for a new mortgage etc etc etc and then SOMEHOW the stars aligned and we got the house! We wrote them a really cute letter about how much we love the neighbourhood and wanted to see our family grow and gather in the beautiful space. I guess it definitely helped us (hot tip for anyone looking to buy in the future!)๐Ÿก

We officially moved in at the start of June and have been go go go ever since! I cannot believe how much it already feels like home, and I truly pinch myself every day that this is our house! Otis is settling in so great and absolutely loving his room, the backyard and the space.

Our neighbourhood is cute as can be, our neighbours are so lovely and kind, we have a coffee shop on our street for goodness sake! โ˜•๏ธWhat a dream. Anyway, big changes over here, and I wanted to share.

Yโ€™all know how much I love home decor and design and creating the ultimate #hygge space and I am excited to take everyone on this adventure with us!

I miss ya! OH! I also got a new job too! As if things werenโ€™t exciting enough with the new house! More updates on that very soon!

Sending love to all, weโ€™re getting there folks!
xoxo
