how to get organized for the christmas season (extra) early๐ŸŽ„

Oh, hello there!

I know what youโ€™re thinking! Christmas content? In mid-October? This even seems like too much for my Christmas-loving self, but here we are.

If you know me or follow me on social, you know how passionate I am about all things Christmas. All year long I wait for this time of year and I do my best to savour every moment of it because, without fail, it always flies by so fast!

I am sure we can all agree that last year was a really tough year when it came to the holidays. We kept thinking there was a chance we could all be together, but as new guidelines and recommendations came out, we realized it was just not possible to all be together.

On top of that, it was extremely tough to shop and get everything in time. Lots of stores were closed, had low inventory and of course, if purchasing items online, the shipping (understandably so) was extremely delayed and unpredictable.

ANYWAY! Here we are. Itโ€™s mid-October and I am more inspired than ever to get things rolling earlier than ever this year. Although I tend to cram a lot of things every Christmas season, I definitely always have some things on my list that I just could not get to!

Ways Iโ€™m getting ready for Christmas earlier than ever this year๐ŸŽ„:

  • Fill up my calendar now so that I get to see family, friends + colleagues โ€” Iโ€™ve already got so many parties, gatherings, shopping dates, dinners, and more planned and itโ€™s not even November. I really wanted to ensure I got to see my favourite people during such a busy time, and am scheduling things earlier than ever to make sure this happens!

  • Shopping/planning gifts โ€” I generally always get my first gift for someone in August, this year more than ever I am being more mindful of buying gifts early (because itโ€™s better budget-wise and I want to be thoughtful in my approach) and of course #shoplocal as much as possible

  • Preparing my holiday content โ€” Since Christmas sneaks up every year, I am always posting a lotttt of Christmassy things but just as it comes. This year, I want to plan things ahead of time and do some really exciting stuff (like my 12 days of Christmas giveaways!)

  • Making a list + checking it twice โ€” I am writing down all of my ideas and thoughts and keeping them in one place. In order to stay on track and do all of the things I want to during my favourite season, I have to stay organized and put all my thoughts on (actual) paper

  • Stock up on items Iโ€™ll need! โ€” Anything from scotch tape, to gift tags. to chocolate chips and everything in between! Last year I remember being stressed that I wasnโ€™t able to access a lot of the things I needed and I want to make sure Iโ€™m prepared. When I see things on sale, I stock up so that when it comes time to plan, bake and wrap -- Iโ€™m ready!

Okay, now who is excited to start planning for Christmas?!
